Overview

Guatemala is located in Central America, bordered by Mexico to the north, El Salvador to the west, Belize to the East and Honduras to the south.  It has a very rich, indigenous culture.

 


What to see

There are many Mayan ruins which are worth visiting.  Other attractions include the colonial city of Antigua, the original Spanish capital and Lake Atitlan, a lake located in the centre of the Country, surrounded by high mountains and volcanic peaks.

When to go

The dry season runs from November to April.  Although the climate is generally spring-like all year round.
