Orient-Express travels through some of the
continent’s most beautiful scenery. Offering
a variety of routes throughout the year,
destinations include Paris, Venice, Rome,
Prague, Vienna and Istanbul.
Recreating the elegant style of a bygone
era, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express
train radiates opulence and glamour. First
introduced at the end of the 18th century,
the carriages now feature 1920s décor, with
polished brass and wooden marquetry. The
comfortable compartments feature a sofa
and small table, a wash basin, luggage rack
and electrical sockets. Each compartment
is attended to by a personal steward,
beckoned at any hour by the ring of a bell.
The bar car, with its resident pianist, and the
meticulously-restored dining cars set the
atmosphere in which to enjoy gourmet meals
prepared by skilled French chefs.
